For Working with Sacred ConnectionsRequirements
Required for Horse TrainingClients need to meet several requirements to ensure a smooth and successful training process. The first step is booking a training slot ahead of time. Clients must then read and sign the training agreement and release of liability, and provide a non-refundable deposit to secure their spot.
Additionally, clients are responsible for ensuring their horses are wormed at least two weeks before bringing them in for training (this is waived if the horse isn’t yet handleable).
My ideal clients are open-minded, willing to listen, and seek to enhance their partnership with their horses through a deep understanding of what horse psychology and effective leadership skills. They value authenticity and effectiveness, and are supportive of compassionate and holistic training methods. Passionate about education and the well-being of both horses and humans, they align with my values and approach. They also love animals and treat them as partners and/or family.

“I am new to horses and I bought two Paints off craigslist. Things were going very well until I began making more requests from my horses, specifically in the round pen when lunging. My horses weren’t responding well and I was feeling a little bit unsafe with their behavior. I had my Ferrier come out and I mentioned this to her. We were thinking about sending the horse to a cowboy school for they needed more training than what I could offer in my green state. My Ferrier highly recommended Alena because of the way she was able to work with difficult horses in a way that worked with the horses language. A few days later Alena came out to meet my horses. We had a great day together and took both horses into the round pen. I showed her what I had been doing to lunge my horses and she saw some of the behavior I was wanting to rectify. She hopped in the round pen and started to work with my difficult horse. He showed cankerous behavior And she stayed on him, asserting her mare leadership. After 10 minutes my horse was calm. He no longer had to be the alpha and he could relax in the strong leader ship of Alena. She took both of my horses out to her facility and I came out every day to work with her and the horses. My favorite part was building a connection with my horse through lunging, leadership and love. The most useful part was having her train the horse with the least training, who was also acting up because he didn’t know how to satisfy the human requests. Every day I came out of there with a positive experience and I believe my horses felt the same. Alena is strong and kind, fierce and gentle. She has so much experience and I really appreciate that she was trained by Native Americans for that gives her a way of working with horses where we can understand them and work with them just like they would with a heard in the wild.
